LIGHTEN UP YOUR OWN SPACE:
Lady with Fan, also known as Frau mit Fächer, was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1917. The Lady wears a kimono and fan in the Japanese style, and figures reminiscent of oriental tapestry grace the perspective less background in a wall tapestry. Klimt’s work borrows heavily from the Symbolist, Impressionist and Art Nouveau movements, and all of those influences can be seen in Lady with Fan. The extensive use of golds, greens and reds in this piece and the highly stylized background give it a much sharper feel than most Nouveau works, which tend toward flowing naturalism and wall art ideas. Art Nouveau Design.
Made from tapestry woven fabrics.
