The term "Chinoiserie" refers to a Western style of decorative art that draws inspiration from Chinese artistic traditions. It became particularly popular in Europe, especially in the 18th century. The British Museum, located in London, houses a significant collection of art and artifacts that reflect the influence of Chinoiserie.

This design is inspired by Chinoiserie, a European style influenced by art and design from China, Japan and other Asian countries, which was popularised in the 18th century.
