Pink Beach Series: Nature Inspired Earrings handmade using reclaimed wood

Our maker was inspired by Tangsi Beach, a pink beach in Lombok Island, Indonesia. The beautiful azure blue of the sea and the rosy hue of white sand of the beach, which comes from coral fragments, provided the inspiration to create this pink beach series. There are 3 main block colours in the designs: blue represents the sea, pink represents the pink sand and the mahogany wood represents the texture of the sand. 

We hope that through our upcycled jewellery, we can capture the beauty of nature and inspire more people to reuse, recreate and recycle as a means of reducing polluting waste and preserve the purity of those environments, which we are increasingly losing due to the issue of pollution.

Our Thallaso Recycled Wood Gold Earrings are handmade using offcuts of mahogany that are salvaged from furniture factories. This upcycled necklace is elegant, simple and lightweight. Each piece is unique and no two necklaces will ever be quite the same.

Isen Batik Series: Eco Friendly Wood Dangle Earrings

Batik is an ancient art which uses wax resistant dye on fabric to achieve intricate and colourful patterns. It is originally from Java, Indonesia, where our maker is located. She was inspired by the Isen-isen, tiny motifs featured on batik designs, that serves to fill and complete the main ornaments in the batik. The names of isen-isen are usually according to their shape and some also have their own meaning. 

This particular Isen-isen motif is called Cecek Sawut, a combination of 2 motifs. Cecek has the simplest form of tiny dots and usually adorns the the area of the batik motifs. Sawut has a flower like appearance with stripes. Our maker recreates these designs using reclaimed wood and hand paints each of the motifs to enhance the beauty of the design.

Our Cecek Sawut Recycled Wood Earrings are handmade using offcuts of teak, jackfruit wood or mango wood that are salvaged from furniture factories. Upcycled Bike Chain Earrings

Our Forger Bicycle Chain Earrings are handmade in Nottingham by a local artist. They are made using the spacers from within bicycle chain links, which are sourced and salvaged from local bicycle repair shops.

After reclaiming and dismantling the links, the parts are painstakingly cleaned to remove years of accumulated grease and grime before the earring designs are intricately assembled.
